Ramallah- The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) concluded the sponsorship activities of “My Clean City” Project for the academic year 2021-2022, which was carried out in partnership with the Municipality of Ramallah to raise the awareness on the environmental issues in Ramallah schools.
The completion of the activates was announced during the honoring ceremony held by Ramallah Municipality at its headquarters to honor the projects that have been completed.
Mr. Alaa Esawi, PAC & Technical Department Coordinator at NBC, said: “as we complete our activities under “My Clean City” project, we take pride in our achievements instilling essential and valuable principles in our children towards a healthy and clean environment”.
He noted that since its inception, NBC has been committed to preserving the environment in Palestine as part of its corporate social responsibility and one of its top priorities.
Mr. Esawi appreciated Ramallah Municipality’s role and continuous efforts to create an informed and educated generation that understands the importance of its land, environment and preservation of the environment, and he appraised the strong relationship between NBC and Ramallah Municipality which aims at building a vital and advanced society.
Mr. Salah Haniyeh, Deputy Mayor of Ramallah Municipality, said he is delighted with the success of the project which continued for 12 years. He commended the positive results achieved through our faith in the next generation and their ability to protect the environment. He added: “The sustainability of the projects which focus on creating citizens who are aware of the environmental issues and boosting the concept of citizenships is as important as the development of infrastructure in the city”.
Mr. Haniyeh appreciated the efforts exerted by NBC and its ongoing support of the environmental projects, consolidation of the environmental culture, and commitment to adopting the highest environmental standards in NBC’s factories.
Note that “My Clean City” project targeted the primary students in several private and public schools, and other UNRWA schools during the academic year 2021-2022, and it entails implementing a set of direct activities and events with the primary students at the schools participating in the project at Ramallah, towards raising the awareness concerning the environmental issues and making a positive change in the way they interact the environment on a daily basis through the implementation of many activities and events for the various classes and educational stages.
